Knowing God’s Will by His Spirit

Knowing God’s Will by His Spirit

We are currently working through R.A. Torrey’s book “How to Pray,” published by Whitaker House Publishing. We have been discussing for the past few weeks about knowing God’s Will when we pray. Although the enemy would have us to believe that it is not possible for us to know the Will of God, the Word of God is specific: The Will of God is the Word of God. 1 John 5:14 – And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His Will, He heareth us:¬†Well, Pastors, I have searched the Word of God for my specific situation and I cannot find any certain promise that covers my issue, what now? Romans 8:26-27 – Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself (or; Himself) ,maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27) And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Why is it that the body of Christ struggles with the idea of knowing the Will of God in any situation? Is it because of traditions that we have been raised up in? Are we confused as to what His Will is in any matter? Can we even know God’s will? If you have ever wondered about knowing the Will of God then join Pastor Brad, Pastor Gavin and myself as we look into God’s Word in search of His Will. 1 John 5:14-15 – And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: 15) And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him. The question is can we know the will of God? 1 Corinthians 2:14 – But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. It is apparent that we cannot with the flesh understand the things of God. (or; the Will of God) Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Romans 8:7 – Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. In our carnality it is hopeless! Thank God He didn’t leave us...
